CrossFit Athlete Brooke Wells Talks Dating Muscular Women

Let’s get something looked after: Brooke Wells is not only just about the most elite female athletes on earth, she’s just about the most elite athletes on earth. Wells finished sixth in the 2016 CrossFit Games and has a deadlift max of 425 pounds, squat of 345 pounds and a snatch of 215 pounds back. For the favorite CrossFit WOD ‘Fran,’ that involves pull-ups and thrusters, Wells can complete it in an easy time of 2:06 stupidly.
The craziest part is she’s so damn young. At 22, Wells has two CrossFit Games under her belt and three regionals – among which she won at only 19 years.
Among her workouts – she does three each day Monday to Wednesday and two each day on Thursday and Friday – Wells continues to be a 22-year-old. She’s still at school at the University of Missouri studying business and loves to take nearly all her weekends off training, morning Saturday workout save for an early on, as told to And what do 22-year-old athletic university students do? We asked Wells what dating is similar to on her behalf and how she navigates the stereotype that guys find muscular women too intimidating.
AskMen: What’s dating like for strong muscular women?
Brooke Wells: I definitely need to date someone more powerful than me, and that may sometimes be hard (laughs). But honestly, I simply need someone that will understand my love for the sport and loves to be athletic as well.
AM: What are the best compliments a guy can give you?
BW: I think the best compliments have to do with my hard work. Noticing my dedication and discipline is the greatest compliment you can give me.
AM: And the worst?
BW: Degrading muscles with comments maybe comparing my muscles to those of other males or his.
AM: What are the things men should know before dating a strong woman?
BW: It’s important to us! If you’re going to date me, you’re going to understand that I will be training a whole lot and you will need to support and encourage it. Preferably it will be amazing should they were so supportive they might want to spend the first or late hours at the fitness center with me.
AM: Where should men take fit women on a romantic date?
BW: Somewhere healthy! There is nothing worse than having no options to consume healthy like likely to a burger restaurant or something. As awesome as that food is, I’m already going off my diet by consuming out – at the very least try to accommodate just a little. But additionally don’t talk or joke in what I’m eating. “Oh is that way too many calories”…not funny.
AM: What is the main one myth when it comes to muscular women you would like to debunk?
BW: All women are too scared to start out because they could be intimidated by muscles. Everyone starts somewhere! Also, muscles are beautiful – embrace it!
AM: Do muscular women only date muscular men?
BW: Hmm, I wouldn’t say that necessarily – but also for me… yes! It’s more important they appreciate it than how they physically look though. I want somebody who shares interests in visiting the gym or attempting to be active on vacations, not only for aesthetics.
AM: Do you know the best places to meet up fit women aside from the gym?
BW: Good question! Maybe health food stores or supplement stores.
AM: Have men ever told you you’re “too strong” to allow them to date?
BW: I’ve never personally gotten having said that to my face but I’ve definitely heard boys say “She’s just too muscular for my type.” Well good because you’re an excessive amount of a boy for my type (laughs).

AM: Can you date a man you’re stronger than or do you want someone who’s also fit?
BW: I possibly could maybe date somebody who I possibly could share a bar with, but definitely nothing below that. And again, it is not anything to perform physically. It’s more that it clearly means they don’t really really spend plenty of time in the gym and probably don’t enjoy it.
AM: Can you consider men, generally, are intimidated by muscular women?
BW: Boys: yes. Men: no.
