Compliment Mistakes (29bf4a8)

3. “You’re so bubbly!”
“Bubbly” is often a word often used to famous brands James Corden. Or Vanessa Feltz. What you’re describing is they are hyper, and energetic… and annoying completely. Not forgetting, there’s the implication they are on the larger side, that’s something no one really wants to hear about themselves really.
Even the sound of the word isn’t something you intend to also describe you. It’s plosive, round, and the ‘ubly’ sound is certainly more likely to sound silly. It’s one step from “jolly” – so when you call someone that, you’ll be able to well expect a slap in the facial skin jolly. A big, fat slap.
An if you need any more evidence, we present Exhibit B: Urban Dictionary’s definition:
A euphemism for annoying” and “fat. Mainly utilized by girls to spell it out themselves in order to filter the harsh realities of life.
Also used tentatively by guys as a compliment to girls whose defining features are that to be fat and at the same time, annoying.
Nope, no thanks guys.
